Alina Nassar


Alina Nassar is a partner at Nassar Abogados Centroamerica, in the office of Costa Rica. She chairs and co-chairs the firm’s regional Aviation/Aerospace and Competition practices, respectively. Alina has advised international corporations on legal matters in aviation, corporate, competition matters. She has represented companies before the competition and the civil aviation authorities; advised on aircraft financing transactions; directed regulatory filings for airlines and drone operators; and provided expert advice on aerospace issues. In 2018, she was recognized with the “Best in Aviation Award” by the Americas Women in Business Law Award, in New York. Alina held different positions in the board of directors of the International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA), including the presidency in 2018-2019, being IAWA’s first Latin American president. During her tenure, IAWA issued the first-ever report on gender equality in the aviation and aerospace industry, the “Soaring Through The Glass Ceiling”, in partnership with Korn Ferry and other organizations. She was vice-president of the International Airlines Association in Costa Rica, from 2018-2020, and served as comptroller of the Costa Rica Foreign Investment Agency (CINDE), from 2018-2021. Alina actively speaks at international conferences on air transportation and aerospace, as well as on gender equity and inclusion. She holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Texas at Austin; a J.D. degree -with honors- from the Universidad de Costa Rica, and a Diploma on Advanced Management and Leadership, from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, United Kingdom. She is currently a candidate to Master of Science on Space Studies at KU Leuven University, in Belgium. Alina is a Fellow of the16th class of the Central American Leadership Initiative (CALI) and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
